Community maps are available for download on the NS2 Steam Workshop. All these maps are currently active and thus in a heavy testing. You can find a lot of information about those maps by yourself on the UWE Mapping Forum. Some SCC members are weekly testing a couple of maps (every Sundays), a group composed with competitive players; thanks to the TAW clan; are working on the 6 vs. 6 aspect of the maps below.

Vert^ Beta 5 / 11 ns2_prison is a custom map created by Vert^. It's 12-16 players in size and it features a wheel layout similare to that descent. The Spawns are static; Marines spawn North while aliens spawn South. The map still has many undetailed areas, but those are being worked on actively. 6 / 9 The Tengu Signal Station is located in remote space, orbiting a sun on the verge of going supernova. The 6 crew members on rotation ensure the facility is always transmiting useful navigational data to trade caravans lost in the region. According to transmissions obtained by the TSA, the station drifted into a sizeable debris field, and shortly after the personnel seem to have disappeared. We have reason to believe that the Kharaa are involved, approach with extreme caution.

Olmy Alpha 5 / 9 Relic is a 5 tech point map set in an extremely remote terraforming facility called 'Hellas' that was abandoned decades ago. The landmark feature in the map is 'Mohole', an enormous artificial shaft dug kilometers deep to increase heat release from within the planet's mantle. The rest of the map is mostly infrastructure for the town sized workforce that once lived and worked there. This includes a vehicle route which forms the 'spine' of the map.

BeigeAlert Alpha 5 / 11 A small group of colonists discover an ancient alien temple in the far reaches of space on a planet previously thought to be uninhabited. This is a monumental discovery! Perhaps not "first contact" but at least it has answered the question of whether or not we are alone in the universe! The temple appears to have been abandoned a very long time ago, and has fallen into a state of disrepair. Despite this, there is still plenty left over to study. Perhaps most startling of all is the presence of a massive statue in the "Great Hall". There may be none of "them" left, but now we know what they look like. The colonists' excitement is quickly replaced with terror when they realize what the former inhabitants died trying to bury in the temple. The Kharaa, an alien virus that destroyed the former inhabitants, stealing their bodies to repurpose for its own uses. The colonists have unleashed something terrible upon the universe.

Vetinari Alpha 5 / 9 The setting is a semi-secret research station on a distant ice planet. It's a huge facility, and the map actually only consists of a part of the uppermost layer - the actual facility is buried deep within the ice. thus most activities on the top layer deal with transportation and new visitors. e.g. shaft is going to be a huge cargo elevator shaft, we have one of multiple hangars, and a train station that leads to above-surface outskirts of the station. The map is also divided in a clean-looking "official" part where e.g. visitors and (most) regular scientists work/go through (Reception, Elevator Access, the control room of shaft) and an industrial, "behind the scenes"-part, which represents the guts that hold everything together.

Fracture is a 4 tech-point, 10 resource point map. The map is designed around a three lane concept with fixed opposite spawns for both teams.

This piece of technology can accelerate objects to incredible speed in order to travel distances once thought impossible. Debris sent down from the surface is thrown into deep chasms, burning up in the heat below. The heat and chemical energy released is then harvested for other uses. Unforseen events unfold when new mining exposes the facility to Khaara infestation.

ns2_geothermal Druterium Production 6 / 8 As the name suggests, this map will be based in a geothermal power plant. The Kharaa are spreading quickly across a once-bustling colony world, and the plant is a point of strategic importance -- if the TSA lose it, the aliens could use the steam-extraction wells to burrow into many other yet-untouched parts of the colony. Bases will be located around the major parts of the power plant: the heat intake well, the injection well, the main turbine facility, and the control center, all connected by other generic "power-planty" areas with plenty of huge machinery, massive steam pipes, and deep pits.
ns2_Aleser UncleRay Production (20%) 6 / 8 This is Captain Aleser of the S.S. Ain, from the Nebula Pegasus. Over the last 72 hours, we have encountered something rather... strange. The Scientists from the Medical Research Lab, have found over the last decade, Medical enhancements for the Human Species, Strong immunization pills, and most recently, have over come the basic needs to sustain life on Planet Vargus. Our mission was to inhabit the planet, in order to re-populate the Human Species. In our success, we were able to hold a base onto the planet by using our transportation unit E.V.A.,(Enhanced Vehicle Aid.), which transported good from, and to the planet. However, in the last 72 hours, we have come across something evil, and very disturbing. What we didn't know was that we had placed our colony right on top of an existing colony filled with creatures that, only our minds were able to fathom.

ns2_EVA slayer20 Production 5 / 7 As seen in one of the pictures, E.V.A. stands for something, but what? I don't know. So I'm going to let the community decide what it stands for. NS_Eva takes place at a mall/resort/hotel like place inside an asteroid. The name E.V.A. needs to have something to do with those things. NS_Eva is a Japanese/English hybrid ship. And please, don't expect this thing to be decked out with Anime. That's not the goal for this thing. The only "anime"-ish thing you'll see is the logo and most likely an Anime/Manga store. But that's it.
ns2_Expanse GregWild Production 6 / 7 The Expanse of Eternity has seen better days. It's a grimy, unpleasant little can, far eclipsed by more up to date vessels of superior capacity and standards of living. With a somewhat unhinged AI to boot. The Expanse's last recorded departure logs indicated that they'd taken off in a hurry to attempt to salvage an undisclosed disabled ship of it's lucrative cargo.

ns2_Lunacy Trainee.ger Production 5 / 7 I chose the spread offense layout from the mapping guidelines and i will modify it a bit, so each race has an advantage defending their base. i am also going to support that advantage with lighting and space. for example. near the alien start hive will be a pretty dark cavern, with lots of hiding places. The marine base will be more open and well lighted, with less hiding places. all other areas are going to be "normal" - some hiding places - some darker areas. Due to the limited props, it is mining and cargo themed.
ns2_Maximo Mastoriat Production The map is set up in an old factory-like Base that is playec under a great mountain. The only way to gain fresh air is to use the ventilation that is present all over the map.

ns2_perkele2 uffo Production Some ogres killed some big guy's family and he has sworn revenge, so he send shipful of TSA marines to search out the ogre planet, but since it never reported back it's been assumed that a mighty dragon must've destroyed it somewhere along the way. So this time he'll send even Bigger ship!
ns2_Power Hologram42 Production 5 / 7 Ns2_Power is a level designed to be intuitive and simple for newcomers while still allowing for a competitive and challenging experience for oldschool ns players. I tied the map together through a common theme of yin and yang, represented by the positive blue power streams and negative red power streams. Most rooms have a nod to this dualistic signature in some form or another depending on their relative position to the rather unique center of the map. The result is the Alterra Idle Fusion Reactor Plant on Minerva Prime or ns2_power.
ns2_Prospector TSS Production 6 / 7 On a distant planet, the USS Prospector, Pride of the mining fleet is stocking up on ore when the Kharaa attack out of nowhere. In the ensuing battle, a single gorge managed to slip on-board before the ship took off. Building a hive in the back of the ship and calling in reinforcements, mid transit the Kharaa attempted to take over the ship. In the battle with the marines, a power-core blew up and explosions crippled the ship. Limping to a nearby planet, the civilian crew escaped in the escape pods, leaving the contingent of marines to defend whats left of the ship. Should they fail, it would open the door for the Kharaa to infest yet another planet.

Our hard working engineers and scientists assure the success in our long fought battle. Heroes of an thankless duty. its crucial to keep them running, so these facilities are well hidden. Nevertheless we lost contact to our biggest facility. Soldier! it is on to you, to secure that armory, it is on to you to save our employees and crush the Kharaa once more!

The level has the impression of a top side and downside as if your going deeper and deeper under ground... the highest tech point with skylight views of landing pads and industry. The level winds down through cargo transit systems and cave systems until you hit the bottom (not literally considering the game mechanics for commander view) where there will be lava and drilling and all that pretty orange stuff.
