Spur

Introduction
The Spur is an evolution structure unlocked by choosing the Shift tech path; it is built by the Alien Commander. The Spur specializes in Kharaa lifeform speed evolutions, which are researched by evolving the Spur into a variation of itself (e.g. Celerity Spur). If all specialized Spurs are destroyed, the associated evolution cannot be accessed in the Evolve Menu.

- Upgrade Time: 15 seconds
- Description: Evolves the Spur into a Celerity Spur, unlocking the Celerity upgrade in the Evolve Menu. Celerity allows the player to travel much faster than normal after going the same direction for several seconds. The speed boost quickly dissipates if any combat ability is used.

- Upgrade Time: 15 seconds
- Description: Evolves the Spur into a Hyper-mutation Spur, unlocking the Hyper-mutation upgrade in the Evolve Menu. The upgrade allows the alien to switch between alien classes freely, and only paying the resources for the highest lifeform. For example, the player can evolve to Fade, change to Lerk, and back to Fade again while only paying 50 resources for the price of the Fade. Gestation time between lifeforms is also greatly reduced. Selecting a lifeform of lower cost than your current lifeform will refund the difference in Personal Resources.
